In The Beginning: The Very First Aritonnic Formula
Everything has to start somewhere right?? I'm sure many of you have seen videos or seen recipes floating around facebook or youtube of people making gecko "smoothies" or maybe you haven't and this is your very first time hearing about it! Well! A lot of those "Smoothies" or "homemade" diets stem from Aritonnics very first formula which Ariel shared as a way to provide a staple diet from home that was both healthy for your animals and cost efficient for your pocket as well as convenient for you to make. Below is the original formula as stated in a post from Ariel himself!
We would like to reiterate that our first generation homemade diet was formulated here. We would like to make it clear that we have made so many changes to create an optimal diet that is human grade and has been tested on our collection for years. We’ve shared this many years ago and sharing this again to help the community who are in need of an alternative. 6 boiled eggs (no yolk)
250g mango (frozen)
250g peaches (canned in FRUIT JUICE not in syrup)
10g wheat germ
.5g flax seed oil
.5g spirulina
10g MinerAll calcium w/D3
10g honey
1 banana
16oz of Kefir (cultured low fat milk smoothie)
This can make quite a bit but freeze until ready to use
The Diet that is sold by us today is a refined and perfected version of the original prototype. So as people still use this as the base for a staple diet it is recommended that you use the new formula that we all make fresh just for you! These diets are handmade to ensure optimal freshness no FILLERS!
Well Why Aren't The Ingredients Listed On The Package?
Good Question! Aritonnic Diet Is in the stages of patent pending. The process of getting a product patented is a very long and strenuous process. It also does not protect the inventor against theft or plagiarisms while in this status. However rest assure knowing that as I have stated the current formula is a perfected formula of the original and you can clearly see from the original that all the ingredients used are natural and healthy!

Alright But This Diet Uses Yogurt/Dairy That can't Be Good.....
Before commercial diets were invented, breeders made a staple diet that was in fact yogurt based or baby food based. One of the reasons is because yogurt offers live probiotics which commercial diets do not offer if they offer probiotics at all. Kefir is also 99% lactose free!
What Are Probiotics? And How Are They Beneficial To My Reptile?

Probiotics are live microorganisms that are intended to have health benefits when consumed or applied to the body. They can be found in yogurt and other fermented foods, and dietary supplements. Although people often think of bacteria and other microorganisms as harmful “germs,” many are actually helpful. Some bacteria help digest food, destroy disease-causing cells, or produce vitamins. Many of the microorganisms in probiotic products are the same as or similar to microorganisms that naturally live in our bodies.
Probiotics may contain a variety of microorganisms. The most common are bacteria that belong to groups called Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. Other bacteria may also be used as probiotics, and so may yeasts such as Saccharomyces boulardii.
Different types of probiotics may have different effects. For example, if a specific kind of Lactobacillus helps prevent an illness, that doesn’t necessarily mean that another kind of Lactobacillus or any of the Bifidobacterium probiotics would do the same thing.
Probiotics help promote and maintain healthy gut flora. Gut Flora is the bacteria and other organisms that live inside the intestines. They help digest food. Vitamins such as biotin and vitamin K are made by gut flora. Also called gut microflora, intestinal flora, intestinal microflora, and microflora. Healthy git flora contributes to a more robust immune system and greater ability to fight off infectious diseases.
Our Personal Observations Using Aritonnic
Since using Aritonnic the results are almost instant. Our Geckos were alot more active and aware. The growth rate of our babies increased. (Insects were not readily available during my trial period so that was not a contributing factor to the increased growth rate). We also noticed that in one particular gecko that suffers from calcium issues and periodic weight loss she gained back the weight maintained it and has had much better calcium retention. Our babies also show a higher interest in insect hunting at an earlier stage.
We can only say great things about this Diet as it has been an absolute amazing addition to our feeding routine. This is currently the only diet we use here at The Peculiar Dragon.
